Bodofa Day
Bodofa Day is a day observed in Assam, India, to commemorate the life and work of Upendranath Brahma, a Bodo leader who is given the title of Bodofa, which means Guardian of Bodos. He was born on 31 March 1956 and died on 1 May 1990.
Brahma was a student leader and social activist who worked for the rights of the Bodo people. He was the founder of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), which played a major role in the Bodoland movement. He was also a poet and writer.
